Problems with G-ville police

I have to agree with Mike Cunningham’s interpretation of the Grantsville City’s police department (“G-ville cops mucked up Fourth,” July 13). I have personally had problems with each and every one of the officers on the force through no fault of my own. I have a son who has had run-ins with the law and have been completely blown away by the incompetence and disrespect toward me — not the suspect, mind you — that these officers have displayed. First of all, they have no idea what the law they are expected to uphold is. If you ask them a question, expect a wrong answer. Secondly, after we convinced my son to turn himself in after a crime he had committed, he was handed a witness statement by our so-called “detective” and asked to fill it out and return it on Monday. Of course, he wasn’t a witness. He was the suspect, for crying out loud — the one whom a day before the brilliant police department had just issued a missing person’s report for. This is just a brief sample of the multiple ridiculous infractions our so-called police force has displayed in a short period of time. It is definitely time to clean house and get some real officers to watch over and protect our town. Crime is growing and it appears our officers are more interested in causing dispute and confusion than arresting true criminals.
